Kansas City Business Journal: Saint Luke's Expands its Cancer Institute Services in the Northland
Spurred by an increasing need for cancer treatments, Saint Luke’s is bringing its services to the Northland with a new program.
The cancer program at Saint Luke's North Hospital–Barry Road expands its Cancer Institute services, which is housed in Saint Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City. Saint Luke's Health System and St. Louis-based BJC HealthCare merged in January, and BJC Health System's western region consists of Saint Luke's. The expanded program, expected to open in the spring, will enable the system to meet burgeoning demand and probably attract new patients in a growing part of the metro.
“We felt with the growth and demand in that area, that we would expand our services and really build a comprehensive program so patients could access all of their patient care in one location,” said Dr. Timothy Pluard, medical director of Saint Luke’s Cancer Institute.
