KMBC: New Heart Procedure at Saint Luke’s Gives Hope to Patient With Decades-long Heart Issues
Cindy Mager, 59, had her first heart surgery when she was just 33 years old to address a major blockage in her heart. The procedure, which was performed at another hospital, only resolved her symptoms temporarily.
She was told there was nothing more they could do for her. That was until a referral led her to Saint Luke’s Mid America Heart Institute, where doctors told her about a new option on the horizon that could help improve symptoms from her decades-long heart issues.
KMBC talked with Cindy and Saint Luke's cardiologist, Dr. Anthony Hart, about her journey as the first Saint Luke's patient to get the Shockwave Reducer device as part of the COSIRA II trial.
